The Department of Facilities Planning and Management began excavating portions of Central Mall in late-May to upgrade the pipes that comprise the university’s steam and chilled water systems.
The primary work on the central chilled water system lines that cross Central Mall is concluding this week; however, smaller-scale work on those systems will continue through November. The steam system work, which is occurring behind Marquette Hall, will continue through September.
All campus sidewalks will be accessible once classes start on Aug. 26, with the exception of the the court space behind Marquette Hall and heading through the Gesu tunnel.
During this time, the Marquette community is reminded to follow construction/roadway signage and be aware of trucks driving though campus.
