May Wellness Events; Poker Walk is May 15

Group Fitness Classes
Group fitness classes begin this week. Sign up for your FitPass online. 

Sign up with Virgin Pulse for 500 bonus points
Earn 500 bonus points for signing up with Virgin Pulse during the month of May. Existing users must earn one point during the month of May to receive an additional 500 bonus points.  

TIAA Individual Counseling Sessions — May 1, 2
TIAA Individual Counseling Sessions will take place Wednesday, May 1, at 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday, May 2, at 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the AMU. Meet with a TIAA financial consultant to discuss your finances on a confidential basis. To RSVP, call 1 (800) 732-8353. 

GROW: Using Virgin Pulse — May 30
Kristin Kipp of Marquette Wellness will present “GROW: Using Virgin Pulse” on Thursday, May 30, from noon to 1 p.m. in the AMU, Room 254. This session is for those interested in learning more about Virgin Pulse and how to use the wellness portal and app to maximize point earning opportunities. Discussion will include how data is collected, how you can control how much info you share as well as other common questions/concerns. A demo will also be provided. Register online.   

Annual Poker Walk/Run — May 15
Join President Michael R. Lovell at the Annual Poker Walk/Run in celebration of National Employee Health and Fitness Day on Wednesday, May 15, from noon to 1 p.m. in Central Mall. There will be swag, refreshments and prizes for the top poker hands. You can earn double points for activity on this day through Virgin Pulse, and an additional 250 bonus points for anyone who walks/runs. Rain location will be the Helfaer Rec Center Gym. Register at the event.   

GROW: Make & Take – Spring Cleaning — May 22
Jenny Gann-Dudgeon will present “GROW: Make & Take – Spring Cleaning” on Wednesday, May 22, from noon to 1 p.m. in the AMU, Henke Lounge. This session will provide information on reducing toxins in cleaning products for less money and will include simple solutions for all cleaning needs with recipes using essential oils. The session will conclude by making a cleaner that you can take home and use. Register online.  

Complete Exercise Survey 
As part of a project-based service-learning course, “Exercise is Medicine On Campus”, a student is collecting data on the current exercise habits of the Marquette community. Please add to the data set by taking the online survey. The survey takes around a minute to complete.
