The Purchasing Department and IT Services have been working to secure new multi-functional devices (MFDs) for departments on campus.
MFDs include office machines such as printers serve multiple purposes (printing, scanning, copying, etc.) Upgrades will begin in early June with the departmental upgrades, followed by a PrintWise upgrade in mid-July.
A detailed implementation schedule will be sent to the individuals in each department who manage MFD/printers. Gordon Flesch Company will continue to be Marquette’s partner with on-site repair and maintenance capabilities.
Upgrades to the machines include:
- Third generation Canon MFDs
- Proximity card readers
- Continued ability to print to any networked machine with secure print release (follow-me print)
- Lower cost per copy rates
- Departmental cost center accounting and management
Training will be available to help maximize functionality and value of equipment. Initial training will be provided at the time of the MFD upgrade, with in-person follow up training available upon request.
Please note that during the roll out, printing via deptprint@marquette.edu (for mobile and handheld devices) will be unavailable. This outage starts at 8 a.m. on Friday, May 31. Service will be restored on Monday, June 17.
