“175 Alive,” the Archdiocese of Milwaukee’s 175th anniversary celebration, will take place on Saturday, May 4, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Cathedral Square Park. All Marquette faculty, staff and students are invited to this free event.
The event starts at 9:30 a.m. at Pere Marquette Park. A procession to the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist will begin at 10:30 a.m. in which Marquette will have a banner. All of the Marquette community is invited to participate in the procession.
The Marquette Gospel Choir will open the event, followed by remarks from President Michael R. Lovell and Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki on the history of the Catholic Church in Milwaukee.
Attendees will then process to Mass at the Cathedral at 11 a.m. The festivities will continue at Cathedral Square Park following Mass, with food trucks, music and games.
