Each spring, the Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology Graduate Student Organization (CECP GSO) hosts a Diversity Gala. This year, the event will take place on Saturday, May 4, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at MobCraft Brewery (505 S. 5th Street).
This annual gala celebrates diversity and recognizes recipients of the Diversity Scholarship. The CECP GSO established this scholarship in 2001 to assist in the recruitment and retention of graduate students from diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds. Now fully endowed, the scholarship funds an annual award for an incoming or current CECP graduate student who identifies as an ethnic or racial minority. Since its inception nearly 20 years ago, the scholarship has supported more than 30 counseling students.
The event will feature a Diversity Scholarship presentation, a silent auction and raffle, and a keynote address by Maria Rozek, trauma counselor and victim advocate.
Hors d’oeuvres and cash bar will be available. Tickets are available online. Tickets cost $20 for Marquette GSO members and their guests; $30 for non-GSO members and their guests.
