The Diederich College of Communication will host alumna and USA Today Sports columnist Nancy Armour, who is presenting the 25th annual Axthelm Memorial Lecture on Tuesday, March 19, at 4 p.m. in the AMU.
Armour will discuss how the rise of digital platforms is changing sports journalism. Armour, who started her career as a sports journalist as a student reporter for the Marquette Tribune, will share how she navigates this new digital terrain.
In 2004, Armour joined USA Today Sports as a national columnist and covered major events such as the Super Bowl, the Olympics and the World Cup. She has also provided opinion on other major sporting events and news developments, such as the USA Gymnastics sex abuse scandal. Prior to joining USA Today, Armour worked for 20 years as a correspondent for the Associated Press.
