In collaboration with the Milwaukee Filmmaker Alliance, the Haggerty Museum of Art will host artist Alexis Rockman and filmmaker Mallori Taylor for a discussion this Saturday, Feb. 9, at 2 p.m. at the Haggerty Museum on campus.
In 2009, the director Ang Lee asked Alexis Rockman to produce visual inspiration for his film, “Life of Pi.” Rockman produced hundreds of drawings for the film and is credited with “inspirational and concept art” for “Life of Pi.”
During this collaborative program, Rockman—whose involvement with film continues—will talk with Mallori Taylor, a Milwaukee-based artist who’s work focuses on narrative illustration, film and animation. Rockman and Taylor will discuss the integration of film making with other art making practices.
This event is free and open to the public.
