The Center for the Advancement of the Humanities will host, “Celebrating Humanities at Marquette,” on Friday, March 1, and Saturday, March 2.
The conference will feature an array of multi-disciplinary panels from Marquette faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, in the AMU, Henke Lounge.
Presentations from two visiting guest speakers will also take place:
- Susan Freidman, Hilldale Professor of the Humanities and Virginia Woolf Professor of English and Women’s Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will deliver the keynote address on Friday, March 1, in the AMU, Room 163.
- Rev. Kevin Burke, S.J., V.P. for Mission at Regis University and professor of theology and former dean and acting president of the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley, California, will deliver the keynote address on Saturday, March 2, in the Raynor Memorial Library, Beaumier Suites.
To conclude, a reception will take place on Saturday, March 1, at 6:15 p.m. in the Raynor Memorial Library, Beaumier Suites.
