Dear Marquette community,
As we engage in Mission Week here at Marquette, I wanted to alert you to a very important time in our university’s history that will happen in the coming months. Marquette University is preparing to take part in a Mission Priority Examen, an internal review in which all U.S. Jesuit colleges and universities are participating, and I hope you will get involved.
We have a terrific team in charge. Dr. Xavier Cole, vice president of student affairs, and Dr. Stephanie Quade, dean of students, are the co-chairs of the self-study committee leading the Mission Priority Examen. They are working alongside Rev. Frederick Zagone, S.J., acting vice president for mission and ministry. Specific questions about the process, which we’ll begin this semester, should be directed to one of these leaders.
If you’re interested in more information about the process and its goals and objectives, I encourage you to spend time on this excellent website compiled by the Association of Jesuit Colleges & Universities.
We always have more to learn about our university, and I thank you in advance for any and all contributions you can make to the Mission Priority Examen.
Best,
Dr. Michael R. Lovell
President
