The new Athletic and Human Performance Research Center (AHPRC) will kick start a seminar series including leading experts from the Marquette community and beyond. The first event, “Supported Research Project Presentations from Investigators” will take place on Thursday, Jan. 31, from noon to 1 p.m. in Schroeder Complex 356.
The AHPRC initiated a Pilot Award Program designed to facilitate and foster collaborative health and performance-related research between disciplines at Marquette University and with partner institutions. The pilot awards encompass two primary aims of the AHPRC:
- Understanding the mechanisms, best strategies and cutting-edge technology for enhancing athletic and human performance in healthy and clinical populations across the lifespan.
- Utilizing “exercise as medicine” as well as nutritional, psychological and other novel interventions for optimizing performance, training, rehabilitation and prevention of disease and injury.
The principal investigators of the four support research projects will present proposed research projects and preliminary findings at the seminar.
