New opportunities for graduate students were recently announced related to Marquette’s participation in the Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute (NM DSI). The goal is to identify NM DSI scholars in all departments who may be grappling with data and data science issues.
Faculty members are invited to sponsor students for two opportunities:
- Encourage graduate students to develop skills in the data science field.
- Please note that there are tuition grants for taking courses related to data science.
- Further research using data science and provide research experiences for students.
- The university will offer student employment opportunities where students can work on data science related projects. These early opportunities emerging from the NM DSI are limited to Marquette graduate students who are recommended by Marquette faculty.
Details of the opportunities and application forms are available via email from Tom Kaczmarek, the interim co-director of the NM DSI, at (414) 288-6734.
Applications are due Dec. 1, 2018.
