Igniting Hope, a campus-wide event to spread holiday cheer, will take place on Monday, Dec. 3. The goal of Igniting Hope is to unite students and the community while welcoming the holiday season to campus.
The main event, the annual Christmas tree-lighting ceremony, will take place at 5 p.m. in Westowne Square. To continue the festivities, a reception will follow until 7 p.m. in the AMU Ballrooms. There will be a hot chocolate bar, holiday deserts, a winter photo booth, crafts, and carols sung by The Gold ‘n Blues and The Naturals. Students can also make cards and tie blankets for kids spending their holidays at Children’s Hospital.
Before the tree lighting ceremony, students can serve the community by handing out donations and hot chocolate at the 12th and 16th street bus stops on campus from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
