The Office of Marketing and Communication (OMC) and Information Technology Services (ITS) are working toward establishing an internal website, or intranet.
The purpose of the intranet is to create a space for internal-focused content that is restricted from public view. Implementation of an intranet aligns with the “Sustainability of Valuable Resources” theme in our Beyond Boundaries strategic plan. Long-term benefits of the intranet will include:
- An easily navigable space to post internal-facing forms, documents and processes that are only applicable to Marquette employees and/or students
- A reduction in Marquette.edu public-facing website pages, which will provide an improved user experience for external audiences such as prospective students and parents
- A reduction in time and cost resources needed to maintain external-facing web pages
Marquette faculty, staff and students will be able to see intranet content if they are on campus and connected to a campus network, or off-campus and logged in to the VPN.
ITS and OMC will provide more details on the roll-out of the Intranet and training opportunities for web editors. Watch Marquette Today for more details.
