The National Science Foundation has announced a new policy that will require Marquette, an NSF awardee institution, to notify NSF of the following conditions:
- Any findings or determinations that an NSF-funded principal investigator or co-principal investigator committed any sort of harassment, including sexual harassment or sexual assault
- If a principal investigator or co-principal investigator is placed on administrative leave, or if there is any administrative action taken relating to a harassment or sexual assault finding or investigation
The policy applies to all current and future NSF awards and includes all cases of sexual harassment, other forms of harassment and sexual assault. Reporting is required even if the indicated actions occurred outside the scope of the NSF award.
Marquette is committed to ensuring the safety and security of everyone on campus. As an NSF awardee institution, the university is proud to support this new policy, which is dedicated to protecting our research community from all forms of harassment.
The policy will take effect Oct. 21, 2018. More information is available online. For questions regarding the policy, contact Cara Hardin, interim Title IX coordinator.
