Marquette University launches Community Engagement Task Force 2.0

October 1, 2018

In summer 2018, President Michael R. Lovell asked Provost Dan Myers to convene the next iteration of the Community Engagement Task Force composed of internal leaders, external community partners and the campus community to seek recommendations on how to institutionalize community engagement at Marquette. The goals is to further solidify Marquette as a local, national and global leader in community engagement.

A steering committee and dimension leads have been established to provide oversight, guidance and support. Dimension leads are tasked with exploring strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the current state, identifying national best practices and making recommendations in the following dimensions:

  1. Faculty and staff engagement
  2. Student engagement
  3. Mission
  4. Partnership management and cultivation
  5. Impact/Assessment
  6. Profile and membership

To date, more than 80 individuals have been invited to participate in these working teams.

Those who would like to be more directly involved in these efforts should attend a faculty and staff listening session on Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the AMU Ballrooms. This will be one of a few planned listening sessions in early- and mid-October.
