The University Innovation Council, which is charged with developing and implementing the application process for the Explorer Challenge (formerly known as the strategic innovation fund), will host an Ideas Fest Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the 707 Hub. The event will include an overview of the application process, as well as the opportunity to explore potential project ideas and connect with collaborators.
The work of the University Innovation Council is being coordinated by Dr. Jeanne Hossenlopp, vice president for research and innovation. The council is calling for pre-proposals from individuals or teams (faculty, staff and students are all eligible) who wish to develop innovative ideas that support one or more themes of Beyond Boundaries, the university’s strategic plan.
Pre-proposal requirements are available online, and all pre-proposals must be submitted via online. Pre-proposals are required for participation in this year’s fund competition and are due on November 30, 2018. The submission deadline for final proposals is anticipated to be March 3, 2019. A complete timeline for the Explorer Challenge process is also available online.
The event is open to all students, faculty and staff. Pre-registration is not required, but individuals are encouraged to share their ideas or interests in advance online. This will help the University Innovation Council connect individuals with similar interests. Email innovation@marquette.edu with questions. Register online.
