Army ROTC place first at Wisconsin Ranger Challenge

All three Marquette Army ROTC placed first at the Wisconsin Ranger Challenge at Fort McCoy earlier this month. Categories included a nine-person cadet team, a five-person co-ed cadet team and a five-person open team.

The nine-person cadet and the five-person cadet co-ed teams will be competing in the Midwest regional competition at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri from Nov. 2-4.

The competition includes various events, including M-16 rifle disassembly/assembly, an Physical Fitness Challenge, day and night land navigation, a grenade assault course, basic rifle marksmanship, an obstacle course, and a whole lot of “on foot” marching with full military load and rucksack.

The teams consisted of students from Marquette, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
