Marquette University Trustee Emeritus Daniel “Jack” McKeithan of River Hills, Wis., died recently at age 82. A past Marquette parent and a member of the President’s Society, McKeithan served on the Board of Trustees from 1979 to 2006.
McKeithan was chairman and CEO of Tamarack Petroleum, president of Active Investor Management, and President and CEO of SeisTech Development. A member of the Greater Milwaukee Committee, he was a former director of Schlitz Brewing, which he served as chairman from 1976 until 1982. A recently-added trustee of the Evan and Marion Helfaer Foundation and a former trustee of the Great Circus Parade, McKeithan had been a director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, Columbia Saint Mary’s Foundation, International Crane Foundation, National Urban League and the United Way of Greater Milwaukee.
McKeithan is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma. Jack’s wife, Patti, is the retired vice president of corporate affairs for Miller Brewing. She is a former trustee of Saint Norbert College and a director of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation. The couple were honored in 2009 with the Evan P. Helfaer Donor Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Southeastern Wisconsin. McKeithan’s daughter from his first marriage, Deborah McKeithan-Gebhardt, Law ’87, joined Tamarack in 1991 as general counsel; she has been president since 2009.
