Faculty members eligible for sabbaticals in the 2019–20 academic year are reminded to submit their sabbatical review plans to the Office of the Provost by Oct. 15. It is essential that faculty members submit their plans by the Oct. 15 deadline in order to allow sufficient time for academic units to coordinate schedule and staffing adjustments for the following academic year.
Further information about the sabbatical program as well as requirements for sabbatical plans can be found on the Office of the Provost’s Sabbatical Handbook website. Sabbatical plans must be approved by the unit dean or designated representative before submission. Faculty members who completed their sabbaticals during the 2017–18 academic year are also reminded to submit their sabbatical reports to the Office of the Provost by the Oct. 15 deadline. Sabbatical reports must also be approved by the unit dean or designated representative before submission.
The Sabbatical Review Committee will be chaired by Dr. Carla Hay, associate professor of history in the Helen Way Klingler College of Arts and Sciences. The Sabbatical Review Committee is composed of eight tenured members of the regular faculty and distributed so as to assure representation of a variety of scholarly disciplines. Plans and reports should be submitted by the deadline to Peter Kovochich, administrative assistant in the Office of the Provost, while copying Sally Doyle, assistant provost for budget and division operations. Questions may also be directed to Kovochich.
