The Department of Math, Statistics and Computer Science will be hosting the following events this week on Nielsen data.
Tuesday, Sept. 4, 6:30 p.m., Straz 269 — Taco Tuesday networking and trivia: Nielsen measures what consumers watch and what they buy. Stop by for free Qdoba, chat with the Nielsen recruiting team and learn what content was most viewed and what products were most bought by playing trivia.
Wednesday, Sept. 5, 6 p.m., Cudahy 401 — Pizza, Azure and Python: Enjoy pizza and learn to work with the cloud. In this hands-on workshop, learn more about the cloud, specifically Microsoft Azure and Python (Jupyter notebooks). Attendees will use these technologies to create data visualizations with real Nielsen data. All skill/knowledge levels welcome. Bring your laptops and appetites.
Thursday, Sept. 6, 5:30 p.m., Straz 105 — Secrets from a recruiter: Nielsen recruiters will share insider tips and secrets on how to stand out during the recruiting process for a technical role. Topics include resume critiques, career fair etiquette, interview prep, interviewing do’s and don’ts, follow-up memos, and postinternship communication. Bring your resume and see how you can stand out.
