Marquette alumna Cele Bona will present a poetry reading on Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Eisenberg Reading Room on the fourth floor of Sensenbrenner Hall.
The event is sponsored by the Center for the Advancement of the Humanities.
Bona is a graduate of The Program for Writers at the University of Illinois – Chicago, and received her bachelor’s degree from Marquette. As an adjunct professor of English at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, she taught creative writing and English. She conducts writing workshops and has worked as a journalist and public relations professional. Her poems have appeared in The Little Magazine, Marquette Journal and Prairie Light Review.
Bona is the recipient of the “Jo-Anne Hirshfield Memorial Poetry Award,” sponsored by the Evanston Public Library.
