Volunteers are needed for a research study, “Forming an Identity as a Non-drinker within a College Culture that Celebrates Drinking.”
Student participants receive $15 for sharing their story and talking about life as a non-drinker (or moderate drinker) on a college campus.
Participants are asked to come for a 45-60 minute interview conducted one-on-one to talk about their life as a student who opts out of heavy drinking. Each participant must:
- Be a student at Marquette
- Not consume alcohol — or drink in moderation (no more than two drinks for men or one drink for women at a single occasion)
- Be between 18-25 years of age
Participants receive $15 for one interview.
The study is being conducted by Dr. Joyce Wolburg, associate dean for academic affairs and professor of advertising in the Diederich College of Communication. For more information contact Dr. Wolburg at (414) 288-7309.
The study has been approved by Marquette’s Institutional Review Board for the protection of human subjects. For more information about research participant rights, contact the Office of Research Compliance at (414) 288-7570.
