On Thursday, Aug. 23, Marquette is excited to welcome more than 2,000 students to our Class of 2022. To make the move-in process as smooth as possible for new students and their families, we are asking for your cooperation on some changes to parking procedures that day.
Please plan to allow a few extra minutes for your arrival and departure from campus on Thursday, Aug. 23. The Marquette University Police Department will close the 700 blocks of 13th, 17th and 18th streets beginning around 7:30 a.m. and continuing through most of the day. Please consider ride-sharing or taking alternate means of transportation to campus if possible.
If you routinely park in the 16th Street Structure or Wells Street Structure, please be aware of the following:
- Because 17th Street will be closed, those who regularly park in the 16th Street structure will only be able to access the structure through the entrance on 16th Street.
- Regular 16th Street Structure parkers should plan to park on one of the top three levels of the structure (levels 4, 5 or 6). This will then free up the lower three levels for new students and their families.
- Regular Wells Street Structure parkers are asked to park on one of the top four levels of the Wells Street Structure (levels, 4, 5, 6 or 7). This will assist with the parking needs for students moving into Cobeen Hall, Carpenter Tower, Schroeder Hall and Abbottsford Hall.
Be sure to take a few minutes out of your day to greet our new students and their families. The parents and students will appreciate your kind words of welcome. Thank you in advance for making Move-in Day 2018 a success for all!
