A parcel of land on the northwest corner of 12th Street and Wells Street that formerly housed a bus depot and dry cleaner facility is being remediated in preparation for a future surface parking lot.
Once the site is cleared and filled, it must sit idle and undeveloped for one year for the ground to properly settle. The Department of Facilities, Planning and Management has worked closely with the City of Milwaukee and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to properly remediate the area to ensure a clean, high-use site for parking or other future developments.
The site will be paved in summer 2019 to create a permit-accessible surface parking lot. The number of stalls, parking rates and the exact date of completion are to be determined.Watch Marquette Today for updates.
