Virgin Pulse employee wellness portal to launch Wednesday, July 11

June 29, 2018

Marquette Wellness and Benefits recently announced the new Virgin Pulse wellness portal. With the increasing connection between wellness and employee health insurance, we are updating the way employees can earn Marquette University’s contribution to either the FSA or HSA.

The Virgin Pulse wellness portal operates on a points and levels system, allowing you to earn points for engaging in wellness activities of your choice. Employees can also earn points for a variety of wellness opportunities on campus, like Grow classes, group fitness or meditation classes, financial wellness classes, flu shots, dental exams and more.

As you earn points, you will increase in levels. For each level you achieve, you will earn 25% of your FSA/HSA contribution. You have from Wednesday, July 11, through Monday, Nov. 19, to earn up to 15,000 points, or level four, to earn 100% of your 2019 FSA/HSA contribution.

Biometric Screenings and the online Health Assessment Questionnaire will still be offered and included in the activities that you can participate in to earn points, but we encourage you to engage in activities that support your own personal wellbeing. As we make the transition this year, we’ve made the point values for the online health assessment questionnaire and the biometric screening higher so you can earn all your points by participating in these two activities and registering for the portal as you’ve done in the past.

For our health plan members who have a spouse on the medical plan, your points will still be earned jointly, and the total FSA/HSA contribution you receive will be based on the highest level achieved by both you and your spouse. This means that if you, as the employee, make it to level two and your spouse makes it to level four, the highest level earned by both of you is level two, or 50% of the total contribution. More information as it relates to each health plan can be accessed via the wellness portal on July 11 and is posted on the Marquette Wellness website.

If you are an employee/spouse but you are not on a Marquette sponsored health plan, you can still participate in the portal and earn other fun rewards. All Marquette employees and their spouses using the portal will earn raffle ticket entries for quarterly prize drawings (August and November of this year), and we will be giving away over 140 prizes this year. You can also invite up to 10 friends and family members to use the Virgin Pulse wellness portal with you and create mini challenges for yourself and your friends.

You will receive an email on Wednesday, July 11, from Virgin Pulse asking you to join at join.virginpulse.com/MarquetteUniversity.
