We Are All Marquette: Photos from the third annual Dreamers Gala

Marquette University’s Solidarity In Action student organization hosted the third annual Dreamers Gala: Love Has No Borders, on Wednesday, March 21, in the AMU Monaghan Ballrooms. The sold-out event raised more than $50,000. Photos taken by Michael Carpenter, intern in the Office of Marketing and Communication.

Valeria Navarro Villegas, ’17, shares her powerful story as a Dreamer to a captivated audience.
Approximately 300 community members, students and other campus stakeholders attended this student-led effort to raise funds for the Ignacio Ellacuria, S.J. Scholarship for undocumented students.
The monarch butterfly has been adopted as a symbol of the immigrants’ rights movement due to their vast migration routes and their ability to freely travel across borders.
