To close out Sexual Assault Awareness Month, stand up with survivors and attend Stanford/Marquette, on Monday, April 30, at 7 p.m. in AMU Ballroom E.
The night dedicated to giving survivors of sexual assault a platform during Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The first half will include readings of the Victim Impact Statement from the Brock Turner sentencing and statements from the #metoo movement. The second half will be statements from Marquette students, both in-person and confidential statements presented on their behalf.
Advocates and counselors will be an available resource at the event, and the event is free from mandatory reporting. There will also be free food!
If you or anyone you know might be interested in participating or submitting something, all participants are still welcome! Even if you aren’t sure, please reach out to jessica.szuminski@marquette.edu and to chat or even set up a time to meet.
Admission to the event is free, but free-will donations will be collected for the UMOS Latina Resource Center to support their bilingual services for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Aside from cash and checks, they also accept gift cards to Target and Walmart and clothing donations of *new* sweatshirts, sweatpants, socks, and undergarments.
