The Center for Teaching & Learning – Service Learning Program will offer a Service Learning Course Development Bootcamp for faculty interested in integrating service learning into a new course from Monday, May 21, through Thursday, May 24.
Faculty members will immerse themselves in four mornings (from 9 a.m. to noon) of course development planning sessions that focus on the best practices in course design and integration, community partnership, critical reflection, and assessment strategies. Following the bootcamp, attendees will turn in a new syllabus by Monday, June 25. A $1,000 course-design stipend will be awarded to those who complete the program.
This bootcamp provides a great opportunity for those who are working on new courses for the University’s core curriculum and will be beneficial to all, even veteran faculty members. To qualify courses scheduled must be taught during FY 2018-19. Full time faculty will be given first priority.
