Parisian organist Jon Gillock will present “The Mystique of Messiaen,” an organ concert featuring works by the French composer Olivier Messiaen on Sunday, April 15, at 3 p.m. in Gesu.
A pre-concert conversation highlighting the influences and life of Olivier Messiaen will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Haggerty Museum of Art. Featured panelists include Rev. Steve Schloesser, S.J., professor of history at Loyola University, Chicago; Luke Togni, doctoral candidate in theology at Marquette University whose grandfather studied with Messiaen; and Christopher Berry, director of Music Ministry and organist at the Basilica of St. Josaphat.
