Filmmaker Lizzie Finnegan will give a talk called “Thinking Inside the Box: Infernal Machines, Cyborg Bodies and the Pain of Others in Flannery O’Connor’s ‘The Violent Bear it Away’ and ‘The Lame Shall Enter First,'” on Friday, April 13, at 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in AMU 305.
Following her talk, Finnegan will host a screening and Q+A based on her work on Saturday, April 14, at 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Lunda Room. The screening will contain a collection of her films.
Finnegan is a filmmaker, painter and scholar whose films and painting has been exhibited in the U.S. and internationally. She is also a professor of English at D’Youville College, where she teaches film studies, literature, screenwriting, writing-based activism, media production, media literacy and creative activism.
Both events will include refreshments. All are welcome to attend.
