The Marquette Forum will host Dr. David R. Williams as the 2017-18 forum keynote speaker. The lecture will be held on Tuesday, March 27, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Weasler Auditorium. Register by Tuesday, March 20. Williams will speak on the topic of Making Milwaukee Healthier for All: What Each of Us Can Do.
Williams is the Florence and Laura Norman Professor of Public Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Professor of African and African American Studies and Sociology at Harvard University. Dr. Williams is an internationally recognized authority on social influences on health. He served as key scientific advisor to the award-winning PBS film series, Unnatural Causes: Is Inequality Making Us Sick? and his 2016 TED talk, How Racism Makes Us Sick, has been viewed nearly a million times.
