The Marquette University Academic Integrity Council will host Dr. Fabrice Jotterand for a public lecture titled “Integrity and the Habits of the Heart” on Monday, March 26, at 5:30 p.m. in Emory Clark Hall, 111.
Dr. Jotterand will build off the work of De Tocqueville who coined the term “habits of the heart” in 1835. Dr. Jotterand will examine what “habits of the heart” are vital to become a good and productive citizen in the professional setting.
Dr. Jotterand is an associate professor of bioethics and medical humanities and the director of the graduate program in bioethics at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He also holds a second appointment as a senior researcher for Biomedical Ethics at the University of Basel, Switzerland. He has published and performed research in the areas of neuroethics, psychiatry and mental health, the use of neurotechnologies in psychiatry, medical professionalism, and bioethics and moral/political philosophy.
