Title IX training for faculty and staff

February 28, 2018

Dear Marquette faculty and staff:

Marquette University is committed to providing an excellent educational, working and living environment free from sexual harassment, discrimination and sexual misconduct for all students, faculty staff and guests.

It is imperative that Marquette community members are prepared to respond quickly when a person who has experienced sexual harassment, discrimination or sexual misconduct comes to them for help. Education and training will not only reinforce the university’s policy but will aid in our prevention efforts.

The Office for Civil Rights and Marquette University requires yearly training for all university employees, including all faculty and staff, adjunct faculty and part-time staff. Therefore, on Wednesday, March 7, you will receive an email from Marquette University directing you to log into Haven for Faculty and Staff. This module will cover topics such as sexual harassment, discrimination, sexual misconduct and the Campus SaVE Act. The training may be broken down into as many sessions as needed. To ensure 100-percent participation, completion of the training will be tracked and appropriate follow-up if needed.   Login information may also be found on the website.

This is a key step toward the university’s ongoing compliance. Thank you in advance for participating in the mandatory training designed to assist us in recognizing, responding to, and preventing sexual harassment, discrimination and sexual misconduct.

We hope that you will find the training informative and useful. We look forward to working with the entire campus in our ongoing Title IX education and compliance efforts. If you have any questions concerning the required training, please contact me.

Sincerely,

Christine Harris Taylor
Title IX Coordinator
