Project Ujima is a multidisciplinary program out of Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin that works within Milwaukee County to address community violence. Project Ujima provides a wide range of services to youth and adult victims of violence, including families affected by homicide.
The program staff is currently planning a formal dinner-dance for clients to give them the opportunity to dress up, enjoy themselves, and leave their traumatic experiences behind for an evening. Unfortunately, many clients do not own or cannot afford suits or formal dresses, so we are asking for donations of these clothing items. If you have any type of formal wear that you no longer use, please consider donating it for this event. The deadline to donate is Saturday, March 31. Donations can be dropped off in the Social and Cultural Sciences Office, Lalumiere Hall, attn. Wendy Volz Daniels or Marissa Lovell.
For questions or to make a donation, please contact Marissa Lovell at either of the following email addresses: marissa.lovell@marquette.edu or mlovell@chw.org.
More information on the program is available online.
