The Residence Hall Association will host the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Monday, Dec. 4, at 5 p.m. in Westowne Square. The ceremony will include a performance from the Marquette Liturgical Choir. Each participant will receive a candle during the ceremony.
Prior to the event, community outreach will take place from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. around campus. RHA will be partnering with CAMPus Impact and handing out donations to anyone who is on campus that day. Tables will be set up in front of McCormick Hall, behind the 707 Building and in front of Straz Tower.
After the ceremony, a reception will take place in the AMU Monaghan Ballrooms until 7 p.m. The reception will include food, a hot chocolate bar, a festive photo booth, crafts and musical performances from the Naturals, Gold n’ Blues and Meladies.
Additionally, Dance Marathon will be collecting donations for the Children’s Miracle Network. A CHAMP family will be at the reception and part of the festivities. Letter writing will also be available to bring the holiday spirit to children in the hospital.
