Applications for the second cohort of the Marquette FELOS program (Faculty Exploring Leadership Opportunities) are due no later than Friday, Nov. 10. The program will run during the 2018-19 academic year and is specifically designed for faculty (at least at the associate level) who have not been in a leadership role on campus, but who want to explore that possibility. The program schedule guiding the inaugural cohort is available online.
More detailed information about the FELOS Program can be found on the Office of Faculty Affairs website including the application form. A supervisor’s letter of recommendation is required as part of the application and as such faculty are encouraged to plan ahead so the letter can be submitted with the application.
Applicants selected for the program are expected to be available one day per month for 10 months as well as to devote approximately five to ten hours per month on leadership activities during the program. As such, faculty are strongly encouraged to consider other commitments already in place to determine if the timing is right to participate during the 2018-19 academic year.
For questions contact Dr. Gary Meyer, senior vice provost for faculty affairs, at (414) 288-6350 or feel free to speak to any of the current Marquette FELOS to ask about their experiences.
