Campus Ministry is pleased to announce the appointment of Afnan Musaitif as interim campus minister/chaplain for Muslim Student Support and Community Building. This newly created position will lead Campus Ministry programs for and with Muslim students, work with the Campus Ministry team in interfaith outreach, and contribute to a campus culture of encounter of diverse peoples. Moreover, the chaplain will be a presence of cura personalis to Muslim students in their everyday lives.
Musaitif is available to meet with students individually and as a group. Her hope is that students will reach out to her as needed for consultation, discussion, and reflection. She will usually be available after 4 p.m. on weekdays and during the day on weekends. The best way to reach Musaitif is via email at afnan.musaitif@marquette.edu.
Musaitif is currently a doctoral candidate in counseling psychology at Marquette where she has also served as an adjunct faculty member in the College of Education.
Campus Ministry will host a welcome reception open to the campus community, on Thursday, Oct. 12, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in AMU 227.
