Volunteers needed for annual RHA HALLoween trick-or-treating

October 12, 2017

Volunteers are needed for the annual Residence Hall Association’s HALLoween event, where children from the Marquette community trick-or-treat in the residence halls. The children will be on campus Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. HALLoween provides a safe trick or treating environment for children who may not otherwise have one. Volunteers for different positions are needed to guide the children around and hand out candy.

As a gHost, volunteers will lead groups of children from dorm to dorm so that they can go trick-or-treating. gHosts will receive a t-shirt as well as training prior to the event. There is a limit on volunteers so sign up fast. Priority will be given to residents of Mashuda, O’Donnell, and Straz Halls.

As a “Candy Hander Outer” volunteer, you will be stationed where the kids go to get candy. Some candy will be provided the day of the event by your CPCs and your job is to stay in your room and relax, hang out and wait for trick-or-treaters to come knocking on your door. When they do, you’ll get to hand out candy to all the excited kids. There is no limit on the number of volunteers. Eligible residents are those from Humphrey, McCormick, Schroeder, Abbottsford, Cobeen, and Carpenter Halls.

As a Carnivalier, you will be hanging out with all the kids at the carnival. You’ll help run carnival games, play games, and have a great night interacting with kids! There is no limit on the number of volunteers. All residents from all halls are welcome to volunteer.

Sign up online to participate in HALLoween 2017.

For questions, contact RHA at (414) 288-5851.
