The Marquette Department of Philosophy is holding a conference on the value of philosophy in today’s careers on Friday, Nov. 10, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in AMU Ballroom CD.
Titled “Marquette Philosophy in the World: Putting Philosophy to Work,” the conference will feature Marquette philosophy alumni and faculty sharing their experiences about the value of philosophy in their careers. They also will provide practical tips for promoting philosophy skills in seeking employment.
The campus community is invited. RSVPs are encouraged, but everyone is welcome.
The speakers include Dr. Chad Kleist, ethics and compliance manager at Oshkosh Corp.; Mr. C. Terrence Anderson, equity manager, Metropolitan Council in Minneapolis/St. Paul; Mr. Aaron Jones, sales analyst, Aveda Corp.; Ms. Ciara McHugh, program associate, Marquette University Center for Peacemaking; Dr. Melissa Shew, visiting assistant professor of philosophy; and Mr. Charles Gibbs, legal executive assistant, Godfrey & Kahn, S.C.
