Marquette community encouraged to participate in Miller Valley Block Build, Nov. 4

October 16, 2017

The Marquette community is invited to help revitalize homes as part of the Miller Valley Block Build on Saturday, Nov. 4.

The event is hosted by the Near West Side Partners, in conjunction with Revitalize Milwaukee, MillerCoors and AT&T. Nine homes in Miller Valley, one of the seven neighborhoods that makes up the Near West Side, will be a part of a 48-hour home improvement campaign. Elderly, veterans and disabled homeowners will see basic improvements and upgrades, including lighting, landscaping, and, safety improvements, that will allow them to stay in their homes longer.

As we enter the season of giving, please consider volunteering to make a difference in the lives of neighborhood residents. Over 100 hundred volunteers are needed for the block build in order to help transform this neighborhood. Check out this video appeal from Keith Stanley, executive director of Near West Side Partners.

No experience is required to volunteer. Registration can be completed online.
