Each fall, the Office of Institutional Research and Analysis publishes an interactive report on first-year student profiles. The first-year profile report this year shows that diversity numbers are higher than previous cohorts.
Marquette currently enrolls 11,426 students, of which 8,335 are undergraduates. The first-year class increased to 2,021 full-time, first-time students, of which 31 percent are students of color and 23 percent are first-generation students. There are also 43 international students in the first-year class.
Marquette’s commitment to a diverse university community helps us to achieve excellence by promoting a culture of learning, appreciation and understanding. A list of initiatives tied to diversity and inclusion is available online. In May 2016, Marquette announced an ambitious plan to increase the school’s Hispanic student enrollment by more than 15 percentage points over the next 10 years. The move will position the university to be designated a Hispanic-serving institution.
