The Center for Teaching and Learning is now offering two new services which include one-on-one consultations and workshops.
One-on-one consultations are offered to Marquette employees who have specific questions or need assistance converting course content that is used electronically (e.g. D2L, websites).
Workshops are designed specifically to address accessibility of course content in the electronic classroom. The four different types of workshops include:
- Making your Course Materials Accessible to Students with Disabilities – focuses on an overview of accessibility, why it is important to Marquette’s mission, and a discussion about the changes required to make electronic course content accessible
- Microsoft Office Products Accessibility Overview – is a hands-on experience where each person will use MS functionality to edit a sample syllabus and PowerPoint slide so that it is accessible
- Creating accessible images, video, and website links – focuses on adding accessible content to D2L
- Creating and Converting .pdf Documents to Accessible Documents – is designed for employees wanting to use .pdf files in D2L
Registration for these workshops can be completed online. A full list of CTL workshops can be found on their website.
Those interested in scheduling a consultation or requesting a special design of a workshop that is specific to your department should contact Sheila Bernhardt at (414) 288-5969. Bernhardt is available all day on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and on Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
