The Urban Scholars Program will host its second annual Fortunate Choices event on Wednesday, Oct. 4, in Coughlin Hall 125. Fortunate Choices in an event for helping children battling cancer and bringing awareness to the Marquette community.
Urban Scholars will be partnering with Children With Hair Loss, a non-profit organization that provides children in need with a wig and hair kit at no cost. Urban Scholars will be collecting hair and money donations with a goal of 50 hair donations and $2,000 through their GoFundMe page. Participants are encouraged to donate eight or more inches of hair or $8.
On the day of the event, students and faculty can stop by to cut and donate their hair, donate money, make a card for a hospitalized child or share a picture on the Message of Hope Board. Food and refreshments will be provided.
