Finding a Corporate Compass in Turbulent Times will be the focus of the daylong Corporate Communication Insight Summit on Thursday, Oct. 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the AMU Monaghan Ballrooms.
The summit will address how communication professionals might find their way and advise executives in turbulent and uncertain times as well as consider the most pressing issues facing corporations and the communication strategies the top executives use to address these issues.
We live in a time of uncertainty with a volatile political scene, and heightened scrutiny and activity of stakeholders across the spectrum. Within this context corporate communication must find ways to navigate the current social landscape. Now more than ever corporations need the counsel of communication executives to make decisions about how to successfully communicate corporate values during times of political and cultural instability.
In addition, university scholars will speak to current research on trends shaping stakeholder expectations and corporate advocacy. Questions will include: What are best practices of issues management? What are the most effective ways to build and call upon external stakeholders (community groups, the media) to help address issues? How can companies effectively advocate their positions on key issues? In what ways can companies communicate to build resilience in the face of stakeholder scrutiny?
The event is sponsored by the Diederich College of Communication and Northwestern Mutual.
Registration information and a full list of scheduled speakers can be found online.
