Marquette Sustainability, Marquette Wellness, Groundwork Milwaukee and BeeVangelists Inc. will offer classes on urban gardening and beekeeping Tuesday, Oct. 3, Friday, Oct. 6, and Monday, Oct. 9.
Urban gardening classes will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 3, at the Westowne Square Mini Garden. The twenty-minute classes will be offered at 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. and will include include information on seed harvesting, cold crops, companion planting, composting and winterization.
Beekeeping classes led by a local bee expert will take place on Friday, Oct. 6, and Monday, Oct. 9, at the Engineering Hall green roof. Both classes take place at 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. Small groups of employees will have the chance to meet the bees and learn about their importance. Note: this is a change from the originally scheduled dates of Wednesday, Oct. 4, and Thursday, Oct. 5.
