Matthew Prigge, a local historian, will host a discussion on film censorship Tuesday, Oct. 3, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Raynor Memorial Libraries Beaumier Suites. Prigge is author of Outlaws, Rebels, and Vixens, which explores the cultural milieu in which Milwaukee’s very strict film-censor board operated for almost 60 years.
The talk is part of a broader “Banned!” fall programming series, which includes several exhibits exploring current and historical challenges to creative and intellectual expression.
More information on this event and the continuing series is available online.
