The Office of the Provost and the Latinx Faculty and Staff Association (LaFASA) of Marquette University will co-sponsor a campus-wide Day of Reflection on Wednesday, Oct. 11, from 8 a.m. to noon, to facilitate a conversation among students, faculty, and staff regarding how the Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) initiative will impact our university.
Seeking HSI status will not only dramatically change the demographics of our student body but will also require an equally dramatic response in campus practices. This Day of Reflection, which includes keynote speaker Dr. Gina Garcia, will provide a forum to learn more about the HSI initiative and engage in dialogue around how this initiative invites us to become agents of change.
For more information and to register, go online. For questions contact event co-organizers Kim Harris, associate director of the Health Careers Opportunity Program, or Jacki Black, associate director for Hispanic initiatives.
