Highlighting a weeklong series of events this fall, Marquette University will host headliners Fitz and the Tantrums and AJR for its on-campus Homecoming 2017 Rock the Mall concert on Saturday, Oct. 7, in Central Mall.
The private concert is free and open to Marquette students, alumni, faculty and staff who can register now at mu.edu/homecoming. Please note, tickets will be limited. Gates will open at 5 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7 p.m. in Central Mall. The concert is sponsored by Pepsi; Ansay & Associates; David Mayhood, Eng ’67; and Mindpool Live.
This year’s Homecoming will coincide with Alumni Reunion Weekend. Students, faculty and staff, along with alumni, parents and friends, will converge on campus for one multi-generational celebration.
“Homecoming week culminating with Alumni Reunion Weekend is the perfect opportunity for all members of the Marquette community to come together and celebrate. I am continually amazed by the passion of this community and their dedication to Marquette,” said President Michael R. Lovell.
Fitz and the Tantrums is best known for their hit song “HandClap,” which has been featured in numerous television shows, commercials and feature films. The concert will open with AJR, an indie pop trio of brothers from New York known for their song “Weak.”
The Marquette community is invited to Homecoming events throughout the week. Some events require pre-registration.
