The Marquette University Board of Trustees approved the new Core Curriculum at its regular May meeting. Work has begun to implement the revised Marquette Core Curriculum. Provost Dan Myers has named two committees to coordinate these efforts. The Core Curriculum Implementation Committee will facilitate a process of identifying courses and developing systems for curricular oversight and assessment. The Core Curriculum Logistics Committee will be responsible for identifying processes and systems that need to be put in place to manage the logistics for the core (e.g., bulletin updates, CheckMarq updates, recruitment, communication, advising, and scheduling, etc). For a list of members, visit the Marquette Core Curriculum Revision website.
From the beginning, this process has been fueled by the energy of faculty from across campus, and the CCIC looks forward to a continuation of this momentum.
The Core Curriculum Implementation Committee is accepting proposals for the Methods of Inquiry, Engaging Social Systems and Values Courses, Discovery Courses, and Writing Intensive Requirement. Details on each specific requirement are outlined in the calls below.
