Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Community Organization Award nominations are now being accepted through Sunday, Sept. 10. At Marquette diversity is an affirmation of our faith-inspired commitment to an inclusive community where human differences thrive in a learning environment characterized by mutual respect and the pursuit of social justice. Our Guiding Values call us to “nurture an inclusive, diverse community that fosters new opportunities, partnerships, collaboration and vigorous yet respectful debate.”
In light of Marquette’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, the award is designed to recognize exemplary leadership by a single community organization, which manifests the ideals of diversity, equity and inclusion into practical action; and, supports, promotes, and cultivates collaborative, mutually beneficial, bi-directional relationships, making tangible differences within the Milwaukee community.
The award is presented jointly by the Office of the Provost, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Office of Community Engagement, with the support of the Office of the President. The winner will be announced at the Community Engagement Symposium on Monday, Nov. 6.
